Plein Air Painting

On a recent cool but sunny morning I decided to get outdoors to paint a view I enjoy looking at every day. I’d been approached to be involved in Grenfell Art Gallery’s Gold Trail Exhibition in October, and my mind has been buzzing with ideas ever since. So I grabbed my small backpack of supplies and set up to paint outside in the winter sun and the lovely soft breeze. By the time I’d blocked in the basic shapes I had ditched the sunhat, loaded myself up with a beanie, gloves, scarf and second jacket and weighed the easel to stop it blowing over in the strong wind that had turned up! Be prepared for changeable weather!Plein Air Painting
